Maker Movement

The Maker Movement is a musical version of MakerSpace. It's where you turn junk to funk by making a musical instrument out of it! Here's a poster that explains it very well...

This would be a great activity to implement in the classroom. It enhances students creativity and problem-solving skills by allowing them to create their own instruments our of recycled resources. Also, this is a great opportunity for cross-curriculum links as science subject elements are included in the physics of making an instrument. It also fits into the teaching style of 'Project Based Learning' which is proven by studies to be great for student motivation and development as they enjoy partaking in their chosen project (creating an instrument of their choice).
